‘Toplička’ Cyclotourist Route

    The ‘Toplička’ Cyclotourist Route connects to the Drava Route. The Route currently connects Varaždin and Varaždinske Toplice and connection to Novi Marof and Ludbreg is envisaged in the future.

    Cycling signposts have been placed along the entire route, special points of interest (POIs) are highlighted and the route has also been mapped onto an on-line cartographic system in GPX files which can be downloaded onto navigational devices. The complete mapping system has been integrated into the Varaždin County Tourist Board’s website and includes all important data related to the route, such as special points of interest (cultural sights, resting places, Bike&Bed accommodation, cycling services, the route’s length, altitude terrain and the like).

    This cyclotourism route 16 km long. The condition of the road along the whole of this route section is suitable for cyclotourism activities. Of the total length of the ‘Toplička’ Cycling Route, 6.6 km (41%) of the Route is equipped with a bike lane/cycling path and 9.4 km (59%) of the Route does not have an appropriate cycling infrastructure on the road.

    In the direction of Varaždin – Varaždinske Toplice, the Route is marked with 10 road markings located at appropriate locations which correctly direct cyclotourists from the start to the finish of the route. The ‘Toplička’ Cycling Route has 3 special signposts conveniently located by suitable catering facilities along the Route. Furthermore, there are also 5 signposts indicating the bike lane.

    In the direction of Varaždinske Toplice – Varaždin, the Route is marked with 6 road markings located at appropriate locations which correctly direct cyclotourists from the start to the finish of the route. The ‘Toplička’ Cycling Route has 3 special signposts conveniently located by suitable catering facilities along the Route. Furthermore there are also 8 signposts indicating the bike lane.
